Ignite - The Fear Factor

The night was the first of our theme on Fear where we literally faced our fears courtesy of Jungle World (Linenhall Street, Ballymena). We had snakes (big & small), bird eating spiders, crocodiles, parrots, mice, lizards and monkeys. The young people were brought round in groups of 20 and got the chance to handle the animals under the guidance and supervision of the expert staff from Jungle World. An extra special treat was laid on with two "mystery boxes" holding prizes for those brave enough to put their hands in and rustle around amongst all kinds of bugs n slugs to find their prize!

Terry Fulton and Adam McCready served as willing (thought I don’t think they’ll be so keen next time!) guinea pigs prior to the young people coming in (see the pics). The night was rounded off with a number of messy games with volunteers from each group of 20 before two conscripted leaders were blindfolded and befriended by a crocodile and a 7ft python – much to the amusement of the crowd! A short epilogue was given by Stuart Faloon on the meaning, derivation and crippling effects of fear and how our Lord offers us all a life on Him separated from all such suffocating fear.
