Raymond Jackie Givan
(Africa Inland Mission : Kenya)

Raymond and Jackie lived in Kenya with their four daughters; Rachel (12), Naomi (10), Hannah (8) Esther (6) for two and a half years from April 1996 to September 1998.

During that time, they worked under the umbrella of Africa Inland Mission and were based at Kijabe Mission Hospital where Raymond worked as a doctor and Jackie taught Nursing skills to student nurses. Their daughters attended the 500 capacity boarding mission school Rift Valley Academy, as day students.

During their time in Kijabe, Raymond acted as the Medical Director of the hospital and was in charge of the Pharmacy. They developed links with many of the local, indigenous, churches and travelled to the various Maasai areas on Sundays to worship with them. From small beginnings of just two fellowships there are now about eleven churches in the locality and the local Maasai evangelists and pastors are keen that their people have the opportunity to hear the gospel.

Raymond and Jackie returned home to Northern Ireland in 1998 to allow their daughters’ to complete their education.
